Bitcoin standards
The wallet follows the published Bitcoin standards, so your coins are never tied to our software.
Wallets and keys
Section titled “Wallets and keys”| Standard | What it is |
|---|---|
| BIP 32 | Hierarchical deterministic wallets |
| BIP 39 | The list of words (mnemonic) that creates the keys |
| BIP 86 | Taproot single-key addresses. Our default. |
| BIP 84 | Native SegWit (P2WPKH) accounts |
| BIP 49 | SegWit nested in P2SH accounts |
| BIP 44 | The legacy format of deterministic wallets |
| Wallet Import Format (WIF) | Single legacy keys |
| Brain wallets | Classic brain wallets (a key made from a phrase) can be imported; not recommended. The Advance Brain Wallet makes its key with Argon2id |
Transactions and addresses
Section titled “Transactions and addresses”| Standard | What it is |
|---|---|
| BIP 141, BIP 143, BIP 144 | Segregated Witness |
| BIP 173 | Bech32 SegWit addresses, with error detection |
| BIP 341, BIP 342 | Taproot and the validation of Taproot scripts |
Multisignature
Section titled “Multisignature”- K-of-N multisignature on Taproot: the owner’s key is the key path, and each combination of K members is
one script of the tree, a BIP 387
sortedmulti_a. The tree has a defined shape, so the whole wallet is one BIP 386tr()descriptor that other wallets can import. This is what makes Delegated Multisignature cheaper and more private. - Classic SegWit multisignature (P2SH-P2WSH) with
BIP 48 keys, sorted as in
BIP 67 (the descriptor
sh(wsh(sortedmulti(...)))), and PSBT (BIP 174), in Legacy Multisignature.
Network
Section titled “Network”The wallet reads balances and sends payments with the Electrum protocol, with the server you choose.
The anonymous login signs a challenge of the server with BIP 322, the standard for messages signed by a bitcoin address.
It works on MainNet (real bitcoin) and on the test networks.
